NASSCO Launches Regional Events Initiative with ‘Motor City Exchange’

As part of its vision to set standards by increasing the awareness of aging underground infrastructure and providing viable solutions through education, technical resources and industry advocacy, NASSCO introduced the first of many regional events: Motor City Exchange.

Hosted in partnership with Detroit-based Doetsch Environmental Services Inc., the educational event takes place Nov. 7, at the historic Lovett Hall on the grounds of the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich. Motor City Exchange will open with a keynote speech by U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, Michigan’s 12th Congressional District, about the importance of funding underground infrastructure to assess, maintain and rehabilitate aging systems.

The one-day session will then continue with a focus on the causes of SSOs and CSOs – Infiltration & Inflow – through discussions on the importance of pipeline:

  • Assessment and the value of NASSCO’s Pipeline Assessment Certification Program
  • Maintenance and the importance of proper cleaning, root control and addressing fats, oils and grease
  • Rehabilitation options using existing and emerging trenchless technologies

Attendees will be eligible to earn CEU or PDH credits. •
