Among the nine machines exhibited at the Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas booth was the HL940TM wheel loader, one of two Tool Master models in its HL900 series product line. The parallel linkage in this 15-ton model’s Tool Master boom design increases lifting capacity, improves load stability, speeds dumping and enhances visibility.

Recent additions to the 3.5-ton R35Z-9A compact excavator’s standard features include a Werk Brau-compatible thumb bracket, a diverter valve for easy switching between a thumb or attachment; pin-grabber style, dual-locking quick coupler and Q/C piping; enhanced bucket design with lifting-eye and two-piece tooth design for easy replacement; and a durable centered boom LED work light for improved job-site illumination.

Another in the 9A series compact excavators, the 6-ton R55 is the only one to feature a standard counterweight design for maximum lifting power and balance. It’s a popular choice among utility and underground construction contractors for its combination of power and maneuverability.

Hyundai also unveiled the prototype of a fully electric-powered compact excavator, R35E, developed in collaboration with Cummins Engine Co.

Powered by eight Cummins BM4.4E flexible battery modules

(4.4 kWh each) connected to produce total energy of 35 kWh, R35E provides enough power to operate the machine for a full work shift and charge in under three hours. The machine eliminates all gaseous emissions and substantially reduces noise, making it ideal for use in urban and suburban construction.
