Ditch Witch
Ditch Witch, a Charles Machine Works Company, introduced several underground construction products and solutions.
The newest evolution of its directional drills, JT 24 is powerful – with a 101-gross horsepower, Tier 4- and European Stage 5-compliant Cummins diesel engine and 24,000 pounds of thrust and pullback – while minimizing its footprint in a wide range of urban and residential gas, fiber and other utility installations.
A new hydraulic platform utilizes leading technology to maximize drilling efficiency and conserve horsepower for where it matters most – downhole.
With a class-leading maximum carriage speed of 216 fpm, the machine enhances job-site productivity by decreasing cycle times and increasing uptime. It also holds up to 400 feet of drill pipe onboard, allowing for longer bores and increasing return on investment.
The RT80 ride-on trencher features a compact design that makes it ideal for heavy-duty trenching, vibratory plowing and microtrenching in confined urban and residential areas, where larger machines can’t maneuver as freely. The machine is also built to adapt with a modular design that allows tires and tracks to be easily interchanged in the field – keeping work going smoothly.
The RT80 trencher is equipped with a 74.5-horsepower Deutz®, Tier 4 diesel engine, a static load rating of 35,407 pounds and a wide-axle rating of 39,000 pounds. It’s also built for efficiency with a three-speed, shift-on-the-fly ground drive system that allows operators to set the correct range without stopping work.
As the largest and most powerful unit in the Ditch Witch family of stand-on skid steers, SK3000 features an operating capacity of 3,100 pounds – 50-percent more than its closest competitor. The unit delivers 5,500 pounds of breakout force to help operators lift and move heavy loads with a bucket. It also directs up to 51 horsepower to the attachment – more than any other machine in its class – for efficient and productive use of hydraulic attachments.
Specifically designed for its AT30 directional drill, the new Ditch Witch SwitchBack system helps operators by reducing time to transition to pullbacks, allowing a smaller exit pit and improving productivity, since the amount of time needed to dig a larger exit pit and swap tooling can add up to an extra day to a job in rock conditions.
