John Deere Unveils New Crawler Loaders, Compact Wheel Loaders

John Deere introduced the latest additions to its crawler loader line: 655K and 755K.

“Keeping customers top-of-mind, our goal is to provide fleet managers and operators with equipment capable of maximizing efficiency on all fronts,” said Nathan Horstman, product marketing manager, crawler loaders, John Deere Construction & Forestry. “The 655K and 755K exemplify our commitment to producing equipment featuring industry-leading technology engineered to minimize downtime and grant users an innovative, reliable crawler loader solution.”

Featuring a certified Final Tier 4 John Deere PVS 6.8-liter engine, the 655K and 755K use proven technology and a building-block approach based on a solid foundation of reliable John Deere engines. Additionally, both machines exhibit a rise in overall horsepower – from 145 to 155 horsepower for 655K, and 190 to 194 horsepower for 755K.

The new crawler loaders boast hydrostatic transmissions that provide customers with infinite speed control, power management, live power turns, counter rotation while staying in gear, and dynamic braking. Options give operators the ability to choose between multiple transmission control settings – speed-in-grip and a v-pattern control with foot pedal steering.

Inside the cab, on-board hydrostatic and hydraulic pressure sensors make it quick and easy to read pressures, without the need for external gauges.

Both models are equipped with Eco Mode, yielding up to 20-percent less fuel consumption with no loss in productivity. When enabled, Eco automatically adjusts engine speed and transmission settings based on the load, and works in both forward and reverse directions.
Another key fuel-saving feature, auto idle, automatically lowers engine speed when the machine is not moving and no functions are being activated. An adjustable timer can be set in the monitor – and coupled with auto shutdown – to lower fuel costs and save warranty hours.

John Deere also introduced the 244L and 324L, as part of its redesigned compact wheel loader product line.

“Our next generation of compact wheel loaders was designed to meet the needs of industry professionals who are demanding higher performance from their machines,” said Drew Miller, product marketing manager, compact wheel loaders, John Deere Construction & Forestry. “Tailor-made for tight spaces, the 244L and 324L use our proprietary Articulation Plus system to provide greater stability and yield more lifting power while turning tighter.”
