HammerHead Trenchless Expands BlueLight CIPP Lining System, Introduces HeatWave Hot-Water Curing
HammerHead Trenchless, a Charles Machine Works Company, announced that its exclusive Bluelight LED system is now available in North America.
Already proven in Europe and Russia, the Bluelight is a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining system that cures up to five times faster than conventional methods, allowing installers to complete jobs more quickly. This exclusive LED technology is made for laterals and small sewer pipes 4 to 10 inches in diameter.
While the curing speed alone helps installers complete more footage in a given workday, the Bluelight system’s LED technology offers another important advantage. Since the resin cannot be activated by heat, air or non-LED light sources, resin-impregnated liners are stable enough for storage and extended working times.
“The stability of the resin completely revolutionizes the CIPP process workflow,” said Matt Gabrielse, product manager of HammerHead Trenchless CIPP lines. “Installers could wet out all the lining they require for next week’s jobs in the comfort and controlled environment of their own shop on a Friday afternoon.”
The Bluelight LED system is compact and lightweight, making it easily portable on the job site. In addition, a camera mounted in the LED curing head, allows the installer to visually inspect inverted lining and monitor the cure progression.
HammerHead also introduced HeatWave, an all-in-one, hot-water curing system. Its ability to move water at up to 11 gallons per minute helps it raise temperatures faster and keep an entire run—up to 12 inches in diameter—evenly heated to the target temperature. Moving more water through the boiler improves system efficiency, resulting in shorter curing times and even cures throughout the length of the run.
All controls are centrally located for the operator’s ease of use. To switch from fill to recirculation mode, turn a lever on the panel. An onboard return-temperature sensor makes it easy to monitor temperature, helping operators confidently follow the curing schedule for a given product combination on a specific job.
HeatWave is the industry’s only hot-water CIPP curing unit designed, constructed and tested to United States and Canada safety standards, including applicable portions of UL 1776 & CAN/ CSA 22.2 no. 68. •
