Blue Diamond Awarded Patent

A U.S. patent was awarded to Blue Diamond for its 3N1 product, the “Continuous Conduit with Pre-Installed Innerducts,” a “boreable” HDPE continuous conduit with three or four innerducts pre-installed inside. The 4-inch outer casing is extruded over the innerducts at Blue Diamond’s manufacturing facility in Middlesboro, Ky.
By allowing contractors to bore a complete package, 3N1 saves time and money. Innerducts do not have to be pulled through after the bore, so users can blow fiber power lines as soon as the bore is complete, without special equipment. It can also be trenched or plowed in applications along highways.
Currently, 3N1 is available in a 4-inch SIDR 11.5 casing with three 11/4” SDR 13.5 innerducts installed. (Four 1-inch innerducts can be installed using the 4N1 product.) Lengths of 500-1,000 feet are standard, however, custom lengths and configurations are also available.
Blue Diamond Industries manufactures high density polyethylene (HDPE) conduit for communication, power, wind and solar energy, highway and street lighting, Fiber to the Home, industrial pressure pipe and other applications.
