Brierley Associates
Jim Williams, P.E., joined Brierley Associates’ Trenchless Services sector, which provides assistance to the energy industry and other market sectors using HDD and trenchless technologies in the Texas region. He has more than 24 years of experience in underground engineering and construction, with special emphasis in horizontal directional drilling (HDD) complex design, design-build, construction feasibility and project management.
Hyundai
Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas Inc. appointed Stan Park as vice president of Distribution/Marketing, leading the teams in charge of building and supporting Hyundai’s growing dealer network and overall marketing efforts. A Hyundai employee for more than 20 years, he has extensive experience in the material handling industry, most recently as strategic distribution manager.
Tom Owen was named vice president of National Construction Equipment Sales, which reaches and supports equipment customers with job sites and business scope across North America. Most recently, he was national sales manager for the company, responsible for both the inside and outside sales teams for Hyundai’s construction equipment products. His extensive industry experience includes more than 25 years of key sales and marketing positions at leading global OEMs.
Hunting Trenchless
Brent Dennis joined Hunting Trenchless as a regional sales representative. With 14 years of experience serving the needs of global distribution networks in both the mining and construction industries, he most recently was construction product sales manager for Hensley Industries, a subsidiary of Komatsu.
Hunting Trenchless specializes in the design, manufacture and testing of drill pipe and accessories for use in horizontal directional drilling applications.
Vanair
William Lieske is the new manager of inside sales and customer service at Vanair, a mobile power solutions company, offering an extensive line of air compressors, generators, welders, battery boosters, battery chargers, hydraulics and engine-starting equipment.
Lieske brings 17 years of experience in providing customer support for an international inside sales department. He graduated from Valparaiso University (Indiana) with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration.
McLaughlin
Tim Ross joined McLaughlin as regional sales manager for its East Coast territory, providing sales support and expert advice on the full line of products for equipment dealers and contractors throughout the region.
For the past 17 years, Ross’ career has focused on the needs of contractors serving the utility industry, including sales support for vacuum excavation equipment in the Central and Southeastern regions and production manager for a vacuum excavation manufacturer.
McLaughlin, a Vermeer company, has been actively involved in the drilling tool industry for more than 95 years, and is a leading manufacturer of trenchless construction equipment.
Hobas
Richard Turkopp, P.E., vice president of engineering at Hobas Pipe USA, has been appointed as the ASTM International subcommittee chair for Reinforced Plastic Piping Systems and Chemical Equipment. This technical subcommittee is one of 23 that maintain jurisdiction over ASTM Committee D20 on Plastics, with more than 475 standards, published in the Annual Book of ASTM Standards.
A long-term expert in the pipe market, Turkopp has worked with fiberglass pipe since 1972, and has been employed by HOBAS Pipe USA since 1987. He has been involved with ASTM standardization since 1981.
McMillen Jacobs
McMillen Jacobs Associates, an employee-owned environmental, engineering and construction company, announced six promotions to the position of principal in its Underground Division.
John Murray, P.E., officer manager of the New York, N.Y. and Roseland, N.J. locations, has 20 years of experience as design engineer and project manager on a number of design-build and design-bid-build tunnel projects.
Kristian Nelson, office manager in Auckland, New Zealand, has a 19-year career as a civil engineer in Canada and New Zealand, specializing in complex marine, temporary works and ground improvement methods. He is a Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand (CPEng); a Professional Engineer in British Columbia, Canada (PEng); and an International Professional Engineer (IntPE).
Troy Page, P.E., underground cost estimator, has 34 years of experience, including 24 years with heavy construction contractors, primarily working on tunnels, shafts and underground caverns.
Samuel Swartz, P.E., office manager of the firm’s newest Chicago location, has 19 years of engineering experience, including as project manager and design lead on a number of large tunneling projects.
Mark Trim, CPEng (Australia), P.E., design engineer and manager in the Sydney, Australia office. He has 19 years of experience specializing in permanent and temporary underground structures, with an emphasis on tunnel design, deep excavation support systems, soil-structure interaction and ground improvement technology.
Sarah Wilson, P.E., CCM, oversees the firm’s construction management practice, and serves on the board of directors. She has applied her experience in design and construction management to solving problems on underground projects, primarily in water supply and rail transit, for more than 18 years.
Core and Main
Core & Main, one of the nation’s largest distributors of water, sewer, storm and fire protection products, implemented the following organizational changes in an effort to enhance customer value and accelerate company growth.
Steve LeClair was named CEO of the new stand-alone entity, formerly HD Supply Waterworks, with the following people reporting directly to him.
Jack Schaller, a 38-year veteran in the waterworks industry, is president of the Core & Main Waterworks business, leading its field sales organization.
Brad Cowles continues to serve as COO for the Waterworks business, leading strategic sales in capital-intensive growth initiatives (national accounts, water meters, treatment plants and fusible plastics). He assumed additional responsibility as president of the Fire Protection business.
Laura Schneider, vice president of Human Resources, was promoted to chief human resources officer, with responsibility for total rewards, marketing and communications in addition to a strategic focus on talent management.
Mark Witkowski, vice president and CFO, assumed responsibility for the IT organization, in addition to financial planning and services, accounting, tax, treasury and risk, financial modeling and credit functions.
Mark Whittenburg, general counsel and secretary, assumed all legal, contractual and compliance responsibilities, including EHS and other field support resources.
