Barbera Underground Infrastructure Research And Training (BUIRT) Facility at The TTC

TTC honors the past while driving the future through the establishment of the Barbera Underground Infrastructure Research and Training (BUIRT) Facility. This facility honors the past through the recognition of the contributions of the Barbera family (brothers Leo and Jim) to the trenchless industry. It drives the future of the industry through the establishment of a world-class field training and research facility.

This facility will be available for research, development and training for the entire trenchless technology industry including TTC Specialty Schools. In addition, it will be available for international equipment and material manufacturers and technology providers for research, development and technology validation.
This facility will include a climate controlled enclosure features for year-round utilization. It will also have an advanced smart sound system to enhance the learning experience.

The project will be on a fast track for the inauguration ceremony during the next TTC Auger Boring School scheduled for Nov. 12 – 16.
Sponsorship options include several levels of contributions:

  • Diamond: $100,000 and above
  • Platinum: $50,000 to $100,000
  • Gold: $25,000 to 50,000
  • Silver: $5,000 to $25,000
  • Sponsor: $500 to $5,000

All sponsors will be recognized on the entrance monument of this world-class research and training facility. The TTC invites industry organizations to visit the operation at the Louisiana Tech campus in Ruston, La., to see how this facility and the National Trenchless Technology Research Facility can be used to assist their mission.
