LaValley Industries Partners With American Augers
LaValley Industries has entered into a strategic alliance with American Augers, which will distribute two of LaValley excavator attachments specifically configured for loading and unloading drill pipe in horizontal directional drilling (HDD) applications.
“American Augers has a rich history of providing innovative solutions to its customers and we believe that our products, combined with their global network, is a win-win for our industry,” said Jason LaValley, CEO and founder of the Bemidji, Minn., LaValley Industries
TONGHAND exit-side wrench allows a single operator to torque, un-torque, rotate and move drill pipe, strings, reamers and subs, from the safety of the excavator cab during exit-side operations. Its patented TongVise technology allows operators to precisely torque and un-torque joints up to 120,000-foot/pounds, while its gull-wing arm design works with reamers up to 60 inches in diameter.
DECKHAND pipe-handling system transports drill pipe from a rack or trailer and positions it onto a directional drilling rig. It maximizes utilization of onsite excavators by adapting them as handlers, and fitting any brand excavator in the 18-to-36-metric-ton range.
Both attachments have 360-degree rotation, tilt and shift motions, eliminating ground personnel contact with drill pipe and chain wrenches and lending to a safer, more-efficient job site.
For American Augers, with its maxi-sized HDD rigs, drilling fluid reclaimers, pumps, trenchers and other pipeline equipment, the partnership provides customers with “one place to get a complete HDD package,” said Dave Hammond, president of American Augers and Trencor.
