Hexatronic Group, of Sweden, a leading manufacturer of microduct and fiber infrastructure technology, will purchase Blue Diamond Industries, of Lexington, KY, a leading US manufacturer of HDPE conduit to the power and telecom marketplace. Closing of the definitive purchase agreement is scheduled in January 2018. Hexatronic USA will be located in Lexington, KY.
The merger brings together two well-regarded companies in telecom infrastructure, and provides a complete outside plant fiber infrastructure solution from the head end to the user, to service the cloud, broadband, Wi-Fi, mobile, 5G and other data-related industries. In addition to microduct and fiber manufacturing, Hexatronic is experienced in combining outside plant structures and tools to offer complete systems in the United States.
Blue Diamond manufactures HDPE microduct and conduit in larger sizes for the backbone of the telecom and power industries. This second-largest HDPE conduit company in the nation will be able to springboard from Hexatronic expertise, investment and experience in microduct technology. Recently, Blue Diamond moved into a new state of the art manufacturing facility and increased capacity by 25 percent. The company will continue to be managed by the same team “with a strong focus on customer relationships achieved by supplying quality products,” said Sherri Simpson, Blue Diamond CEO.
