Volvo CE Introduces New H-series Compact Wheel Loaders With Increased Versatility, Power
Volvo Construction Equipment (CE) announces two new H-series compact wheel loaders, the L45H AND L50H, built for superior fuel efficiency and enhanced hydraulic flow for faster cycle times at reduced operating costs.
The H-series wheel loaders from Volvo CE are equipped with Volvo’s unique Torque Parallel (TP) linkage, and each machine is built to provide high breakout torque and tremendous parallel movement through the complete lifting range.
John Comrie, product manager for compact wheel loaders at Volvo CE, described the size class as versatile and powerful while delivering increased fuel efficiency, all while also ensuring operator comfort on the jobsite.
Both the L45H and L50H feature a new Volvo D4J Tier 4 Final engine and boast a 15 percent fuel efficiency improvement compared to previous models. In addition, the L50H has a 20 percent improvement in hydraulic pump capacity, resulting in 26 percent faster cycle times versus previous models.
Volvo’s intelligent load-sensing hydraulic system comes standard with its two latest compact wheel loaders; the system drives power to the hydraulic functions according to demand for fast response, shorter cycle times and reduced fuel consumption.
An optional Boom Suspension System (BSS) enhances productivity by up to 20 percent by absorbing shock and reducing bouncing and bucket spillage. Heavy-duty planetary axles ensure longevity in the toughest conditions, and the front and rear 100 percent differential locks feature a dog clutch design that improves grip and maintains maximum traction on all topography. The L45H and L50H compact wheel loaders also feature a hydrostatic transmission that matches power to all operator requirements in order to deliver first-rate control in more straightforward work, as well as full power for more challenging jobs.
The L45H and L50H models boast Volvo’s industry-leading cab for a comfortable and productive work shift. The certified ROPS/FOPS cab features ergonomically placed controls, an elite climate control system, all-around visibility and low internal noise levels. Large anti-slip steps and handrails ensure easy cab entry and exit for increased safety. Customers can choose the optional Comfort Drive Control function which gives the operator the choice to control the wheel loaders by a joystick lever, mounted to the left-hand console. This option further improves operator comfort while reducing fatigue and ensuring enhanced productivity.
Simplified maintenance
Volvo CE’s newest wheel loaders were both built with hassle-free servicing in mind. The L45H and L50H both offer ground-level service points and grouped greasing points for stress-free and swift maintenance. The oscillating rear axle is supported on maintenance-free cradles; its bearings and bushing are lubricated for life and protected by well-established seals, saving hours on maintenance time.
Fleet managers can rest easy with real-time visibility into vital machine information through the Volvo CareTrack telematics monitoring system, where everything from fuel consumption and idle times, to location tracking and service reminders can be monitored to assist in reducing the total cost of ownership, therefore increasing profitability throughout the life of the machine. Fleet managers can also involve their local Volvo CE dealer in proactive monitoring and reporting of CareTrack date through the Volvo ActiveCare program.
The Volvo Lifetime Frame and Structure Warranty offers even further support for both the L45H and L50H compact wheel loaders; the warranty covers the frame, articulation joint and loader arm during the period of initial ownership or the full life of the machine, whichever comes first.
The L45H and L50H are designed to work congruently with a range of Volvo attachments including forks and buckets, and material-handling arms. Each attachment precisely matches the link-arm geometry to optimize breakout, rim pull and lifting force.
