S&N Partners With Bechtel To Build Fiber Optic Networks
S&N Communications, a U.S. provider of construction and maintenance services for telecom, cable and utility companies, finalized a partnership with Bechtel, an engineering, construction and project management company, in an effort to design and construct fiber optic networks in several major cities across the country.
“This partnership enhances our ability to scale operations rapidly to deliver several large markets simultaneously in a cost efficient manner,” said Donn Grimm, senior vice president and general manager for Bechtel Communications business line.
“S&N’s leadership team, construction expertise and innovative approach are amongst the best in the industry,” Grimm added.
Fiber optic work is already in progress for three southeast markets – Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham, NC and Atlanta. www.sncomm.com.
TWDB Approves $64.8 Million in Financial Assistance
The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) approved $64,182,865 in financial assistance for multiple water and wastewater system improvement projects and two water supply projects, Dec. 14, 2015. Of the total funding, $59.8 million was designated for rural water projects.
The funding is separated into 10 different areas including $1.2 million to the Ables Springs Water Supply Corporation for a water supply project; $5 million to the Riverbend Water Resources District for acquisition of a water and wastewater system; $1 million to the City of Willow Park for water system improvements; $3.5 million to the Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 50 for water system improvements; 1.8 million to the City of Liberty for water and wastewater improvements; $2.1 million to the City of Kosse for a water supply project; $16.5 million to the Nueces River Authority for a wastewater treatment plant; $31.5 million to Kerr County for wastewater system improvements; $170,000 to the Loop Water Supply Corporation for water system improvements; $2 million to the City of Rio Hondo for water system improvements. www.twdb.texas.gov.
