Doosan donates 6,500 pounds of food

Doosan’s company-wide volunteer effort, Doosan Day of Community Service, inspired a two-week period in which Doosan Portable Power employees donated 6,500 pounds of nonperishable food items for the Iredell Christian Ministries Food Pantry in Statesville, NC  – which serves over 800 families each month.

Mike Ballweber, president of Doosan Portable Power, said the effort was launched by the company’s desire to make a real difference in its community.

“Hunger is an issue that no child, adult or family should have to face,” Ballweber said, “We are grateful and humbled for the opportunity to help those in need.”

The company’s day of community service places an emphasis on an organizational principle that links all Doosan Infracore employees’ values to a management system focused on social responsibility and community, which can easily be incorporated into their everyday lives. The heart of this principle focuses on the idea that being a good corporate citizen is an ongoing responsibility. For more information about Doosan Portable Power, visit www.doosanportablepower.com.
