Sottung Promoted VP of STV
Steven M. Sottung, LEED AP, has been promoted to vice president of STV and named director of business development for the firm’s Energy Services Division and its energy subsidiary, STV Energy Services Inc.
In his new position, Sottung will oversee the day-to-day efforts of Energy Services’ staff of business development professionals. He will be responsible for identifying and proposing potential business relationships and opportunities with new clients and contracting partners; assessing energy market trends (oil, gas, electric); and aligning client and company strategies.
Based in Douglassville, PA, Sottung joined STV in 1994 as an environmental scientist, advancing to project/program manager, and then environmental manager for the firm’s Buildings & Facilities Division’s Central Region and later the Energy Services Division. Bringing to his new position more than 33 years of diversified environmental science and project/program management experience, Sottung has coordinated efforts with local, state and federal environmental regulatory agencies, including leading project teams responsible for all aspects of several National Environmental Policy Act environmental assessment programs. Most recently, in addition to his increasing business development responsibilities, Sottung has been assisting in the development of STV Energy Services’ transmission/distribution and substation business serving electrical utilities, which he will continue to support.
Sottung earned a Bachelor of Science in marine biology from the University of New England’s St. Francis College. In addition to being a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-accredited professional with the U.S. Green Building Council, he holds an Occupational Safety and Health Administration HAZPOWER certification.
