Pure Technologies, a world leader in the development and application of innovative technologies for inspection, monitoring and management of physical infrastructure, has hired Dr. John Matthews as a program manager for Corporate Initiatives. Matthews will also serve as Pure Technologies Rehabilitation Subject Matter Leader.

Matthews has over a decade of field and research related experience in the inspection and rehabilitation of water and wastewater infrastructure systems. For the past five years, Matthews has been the Water Infrastructure Lead at Battelle where he led multiple research projects related to pipeline asset management, inspection, and rehabilitation.

Prior to joining Battelle, Matthews led several projects at Louisiana Tech University’s Trenchless Technology Center while pursuing his M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and as a Post-Doctoral Researcher.

In more company news, Pure announced that Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC), Laurel, MD, has awarded a new contract to Pure Engineering Services Inc., the company’s wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary, to provide proprietary services that support WSSC’s ongoing pipeline management program. The contract has a maximum value of $20 million over two years, with two option terms each with a two year duration.
