Rehab Spotlight: Spot/Point Repairs
Spot/point repairs by LMK Technologies, Logiball, Ratech Electronics, Infrastructure Repair Systems, Perma-Liner Industries, AMerik Engineering and Masterliner.
LMK Technologies
LMK’s Performance Liner Sectional process renews pipes from 6 to 42 inches in diameter and in continuous lengths up to 50 feet. The liner can be inverted anywhere in the pipe with no trimming or cutting. The result is a structural, root proof, water-tight seal. Performance Liner Sectional conforms 100 percent to ASTM F2599-11. Gasket sealing technology is used at the terminating points of the liner by embedding LMK patented Insignia Hydrophilic O-Rings. 815.433.1275, lmktechnologies.com
Logiball
Logiball manufactures a complete line of sleeve installers (push or pull) used for sectional CIPP repairs in lateral lines, multi-size flow thru installers for sectional CIPP repairs in mainlines and sleeve installers for the installation of mechanical locking sleeves. All Logiball Sleeve Installers are made of reinforced rubber and can be factory repaired for a fraction of the cost. 800.246.5988, logiball.com
Ratech Electronics
The Snap Lock system uses a repair module with a specially designed rubber seal that guarantees a leak-proof interface with the defective section of pipe. The seal is supported by a corrosion-resistant stainless steel sleeve, and is pressed against the pipe wall by the circumferential extension of the sleeve. The installation process locks the Snap Lock module permanently in position. The repair module is made of a cylindrical stainless steel sleeve surrounded by an outer sleeve of rubber. The stainless steel has a high durability and a resistance to most chemicals including hydrogen sulphide. The outer sleeve of buadienstryene rubber is also chemically resistant. Hydrophilic rubber bonded to the outer sleeve expands up to 300 percent in the presence of water, ensuring a completely watertight repair. 800.461.9200, ratech-electronics.com
Infrastructure Repair Systems
The Infrastructure Point Repair System no-dig ambient cure system repairs any size pipe with no interruption of service. A crew of 3-4 with a camera truck, an inflatable carrier or bladder, and an Infrastructure Point Repair Kit is all that is needed to repair a damaged 4-36 inch pipe up to 15 feet in length in less than four hours. The point repair kit features a patented, easy to wrap stay in place, sewn, fiberglass and felt liner that is available in different thicknesses with pre-measured epoxy formulated for summer or winter. This system has been engineer ASTM 1216 certified, has a 100-year life certification and is environmentally safe with over 14 years of proven performance. 877.327.4216, irsi.net
Perma-Liner Industries
The Perma-Liner Sectional Point Repair System consists of a fiberglass-reinforced liner and ambient cured resins. Available from 6 to 54 inches in diameter and lengths from 2 to 30 feet, the point repair forms a structural, permanent waterproof repair, which seals all types of pipe against infiltration and exfiltration. Because the resin is 100 percent solids, there is no shrinkage and therefore no annular space between the pipe and repair that could cause leakage. The Perma-Liner Sectional Point Repair is considered a structural repair per ASTM F-1216 for cured-in-place-pipe. The ASTM Specification testing requirements are based on a minimum life expectancy of 50 years. 727.507.9749, perma-liner.com
AMerik Engineering
Fiber Spot Repair is a steam cured ECR fiberglass sectional liner system for repair of sewer lines from 6 to 32 inches. One installation covers from 2 to 150 feet. Curing time is 45 minutes. The epoxy impregnated liner has an inside veil creating a gel coat surface. The high strength material normally improves flow in the repaired section. New installers are field trained. 770.924.2899, AMerikEngineering.com
Masterliner
Improve flow characteristics of deteriorated pipe using Masterliner’s Sectional Pipe Renewal System for a strong leak proof system in a matter of hours. Once the area is identified and the area is cleaned, Structural Spot Repair is pulled into place through an existing manhole. The repair process now begins. Curing is accomplished by inflating with air, steam or water. Within minutes, the customized resin crosslinks to form a hard impermeable pipe. The Structural Spot Repair is fully cured and the system is now flowing smoothly. The pipe is tightly sealed with the Masterliner system, eliminating the need for any future repair. 888.344.3733, masterliner.com
