Thompson Pipe Group Hires New Sales Manager for FLOWTITE™
Thompson Pipe Group (Thompson), manufacturer of FLOWTITE™ fiberglass pipe (FRP), added an experienced sales team manager in order to meet the continued demand for the customizable pipe product in the water transmission market.
“Thompson Pipe Group has seen rapid growth in the interest of our FLOWTITE™ product, especially in the water pressure and sewer/gravity markets. Engineers have become increasingly aware of the financial and operational benefits of FRP due to our strategic efforts to gain awareness,” said Thompson Pipe Group Executive Vice President Mike Leathers.
Thompson hired Andy Carr, an experienced sales manager in the pipe industry, to manage the company’s efforts in the Great Lakes area. Carr’s title is regional sales manager. His territory includes Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Chicago area, Pennsylvania, and New York. Prior to joining Thompson, he worked in sales for Underground Pipe & Valve in Indiana, and was responsible for launching a new product line and increasing sales by more than $1 million. Additionally, he served as a sales representative at Advanced Drainage Systems where he was responsible for increasing revenue by nearly 20 percent. Carr received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and earned his Master’s in Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is based in Fort Wayne, Ind. “Fiberglass pipe has tremendous benefits in terms of installation, operating efficiencies and eliminating water loss due to corrosion. I’m excited about the opportunity to work with Thompson Pipe Group and share the benefits of how the company’s FLOWTITE™ product is changing the industry,” said Thompson Pipe Group Regional Sales Manager Andy Carr.
