Sterling Lumber Opens Phoenix Branch

Sterling Lumber, a Chicago area producer of crane and access mats, has expanded operations to a new 520,000-square-foot, 60-acre facility in Phoenix, IL.

The company manufactures matting for portable and temporary roads and work platforms throughout North America as well as providing customers turnkey solutions to their access matting needs.

Sterling consolidated three manufacturing plants and 117 employees into the new Phoenix plant and plans to add 50 new employees over the next 24 months.

In more company news, Shane Green has been hired as president with Carter Sterling assuming the role of CEO. It is the first time in 65 years that the Sterling Company business will be run by someone other than a Sterling family member.

Green recently served as president of Homer Industries in Lockport, IL. Prior to that, he spent over a decade in the banking industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Saint Francis. 708.388.2223, SterlingCraneMats.com
