Employees Get Hands Dirty For Doosan Day Of Caring
As part of the Doosan commitment to its communities around the globe, Doosan Portable Power recently held its first Doosan Day of Caring — a company-wide volunteer effort organized in conjunction with Doosan’s Foundation Day and global volunteer week.
Doosan Portable Power is proud to have participated in the event with 50 employees volunteering their time to make a positive impact in the Statesville, North Carolina community.
The group spent Thursday, June 12 beautifying the historic Gregory Creek Homestead in Statesville. The site includes several buildings that date to pre-Revolutionary War times and others to the 1830s, which offer visitors an opportunity to experience life as it was lived in the early days of Iredell County.
“We wanted to make a real difference in our community,” said Mike Ballweber, president of Doosan Portable Power. “The Homestead provides a fun and unique experience for locals and tourists alike to learn about the roots of our community. We’re happy we could help to preserve it for others to enjoy.”
In alignment with the Doosan Way, Doosan Portable Power is committed to creating an environment that encourages employees to participate in community involvement. The Doosan Day of Caring is a new initiative that strives to achieve that goal. Every department of Doosan Portable Power was represented by at least one volunteer for the Day of Caring event.
