Underground Imaging Technologies Welcomes Nick Zembillas
Underground Imaging Technologies (UIT) LLC, A Caterpillar Affiliate, announced that Nicholas Zembillas has joined the UIT Advisory Board as the executive director and chairman.
Zembillas is a recognized expert in Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) and has earned a world-wide reputation for building a world class SUE business spanning over six continents (America, North America, Latin America, Australia, Asia and Europe). Zembillas is known for his dedication to promoting and educating new markets on national SUE standards and technology. He is the CEO and managing director of the consulting firm Subsurface Utility Engineering LLC. Upon joining the UIT Advisory Board he stated, “Exciting times are ahead as we will work toward achieving UIT’s core vision and values.”
Zembillas is active in the industry as a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies Transportation Committee representing the subsurface utility engineering and utility coordination industry and is an original member of the American Society of Civil Engineers Standards Committee, which was responsible for the creation of the Standard Guideline for the Collection and Depiction of Existing Subsurface Utility Data, Canada Standards Association CSA 250A, Standards Australia SA 5488, British Standards Institute BSI PAS 128 and Ecuador’s INEN. He has authored numerous technical papers and articles, and lectures worldwide on SUE. He also serves on several national and international technical committees as a member or advisor including the Federal Highway Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration, National Utility Contractors Association, and the United States Departments of Transportation, the British Standards Institute, and the China Society of Civil Engineers.
