Wheel Loaders: Equipment Spotlight
Wheel loaders from John Deere, Doosan, New Holland, CASE,
Volvo Construction Equipment and Caterpillar.
John Deere
The 229-hp 644K Hybrid Wheel Loader is for value-driven customers looking to lower owning and operating costs. The 644K Hybrid utilizes two sources of energy: diesel and electric. The hybrid loader captures regenerated energy as it is being created and uses it to power the machine. 800.503.3373, deere.com
Doosan
The Doosan DL200-3 wheel loader is ideally sized to handle loading and transporting sand and gravel, snow and storm debris. The DL200-3 has a breakout force of 22,230 pounds with a standard 2.6-cubic-yard bucket and a dump height of 9 feet 6 inches. All routine maintenance can be performed at ground level and a new roomy cab provides operators outstanding visibility and low cabin sound levels.

New Holland
The B Series compact wheel loaders pay their way on the jobsite with outstanding performance in a compact, maneuverable machine. These machines feature a standard hydraulic quick coupler that is compatible with all skid steer loader attachments, a boom design that provides outstanding visibility and breakout force, and high-speed options for travel up to 21.7 miles per hour. The W50B TC features a 54-hp engine, a 1.05-yd3 bucket and an operating weight of 10,173 pounds. The W80B TC features an 82-hp engine, a 1.44-yd3 bucket and an operating weight of 12,544 pounds. 262.636.6011, newholland.com
CASE
The 721F wheel loader from CASE offers best-in-class horsepower and up to a 10 percent increase in fuel economy compared to previous models. The machine is powered by a Tier 4 Interim selective catalytic reduction (SCR) engine that optimizes engine output for wheel loader applications. Productivity is maximized by powerful and fast hydraulics, and four power modes (economy, standard, max and auto) give operators flexibility in matching machine output to job conditions. 262.636.6011, casece.com
Volvo Construction Equipment
The updated L30G and L35G wheel loaders from Volvo may be compact — making them ideal for tight turns and work in restricted areas — but they possess the versatility and breakout and lifting forces expected from larger machines. And, both models feature powerful, new, fuel-efficient Volvo engines that meet the demanding emissions requirements of Tier 4 Final regulations. 825.650.2000, volvo.com
Caterpillar
The new 988K features redesigned loader linkage, worldwide engine configurations, drive train modifications, redesigned cab and enhancements in safety and serviceability. The Cat C18 ACERT engine powers the 988K and is available as a Tier 4 Final/Stage IV version (using selective catalytic reduction to control nitrogen-oxide emissions), and as a Tier 2/Stage II version for less regulated regions. Electronic fuel control ensures optimum performance and throttle response, delivering up to 20 percent greater fuel efficiency, compared with the 988H. Additional fuel savings accrue with the 988K ECO Mode (on-demand throttle), engine-idle shutdown system, and engine-idle kickdown/auto-resume system. Greater fuel efficiency and lower emissions significantly reduce the carbon footprint cat.com/requestCatinfo
