Vibratory Plows: Equipment Spotlight

Vibratory plows from Ditch Witch, Toro and Vermeer.

Ditch Witch
With dozens of innovative features, including a plow vibrator with automatic blade centering, the 410SX quickly and efficiently installs communication lines, natural gas and water services, or a complete underground sprinkler system without digging a trench. The emissions-compliant engine is enclosed for quiet operation, and vibration-isolated to reduce operator fatigue. A 45-net-hp Deutz diesel 6 engine provides the power you need for the most demanding conditions. And articulated-frame steering enables maneuvering around trees and other obstacles. The oscillating rear axle keeps four-wheel drive engaged, for excellent traction and drawbar. The operator station features easily accessible, easy-to-understand, color-coded controls; one lever controls ground speed, direction and steering. When attachment or ground drive is engaged, operator-presence system stops the engine if operator releases the control. An optional front-mounted trencher attachment features an auger for fast spoils removal. The vibratory plow trolley automatically centers itself when the plow blade is raised from the ground; a manual lock secures the trolley during transport. 800.654.6481, ditchwitch.com

The Toro Dingo vibratory plow attachment greatly reduces a contractor’s time spent on irrigation and cable installations. Exclusively designed and built by Toro specifically for use on the Dingo, the vibratory plow optimizes pipe-pulling performance while minimizing turf damage during an installation. Also, use the chuted blade and spool carrier to install wire or cable. A depth indicator ensures pipe-laying at uniform depth and compression springs allow the head to pivot 30-degree side-to-side for tight turning. A heavy cast coulter provides knife-like slit in turf ahead of blade to allow the blade to move through turf with minimal tearing. Other features include rubber isolators to control the plow vibration amputude and elliptical vibrating motion that creates natural force in the direction of the machine, thus helping to pull pipe and cable through difficult soil conditions. 800.344.8676, toro.com
