North American Specialty Products Offers Industry First
StraightShot
To help contractors and municipalities achieve greater precision and efficiency in trenchless sewer infrastructure projects, North American Specialty Products introduces StraightShot, the industry’s first restrained-joint PVC pipe with a flush joint.
Featuring the company’s Certa-Lok mechanical joining system, StraightShot offers the advantages of a smooth, flush joint without the need for the time-consuming and costly fusion process.
StraightShot is an ideal solution for guided boring and gravity sewer projects where precise grading is critical. It is also excellent for sliplining and microtunneling applications. Because it can be easily assembled in a launch pit as pullback continues, StraightShot enables crews to minimize disturbance to the surrounding community during installation. To better streamline a project, StraightShot also can be installed in a smaller bore hole with less resistance during pushing or pulling applications.
StraightShot is available in 1-, 2- and 3-meter lengths, making it ideal for manhole-to-manhole installation. Aligning with cast iron dimensions, StraightShot comes in outside diameters of 8 or 15 inches, both in DR14. The pipe is very resilient and well-suited for both pulling and pushing operations, with the 15-inch option able to withstand up to 167,700 pounds of jacking pressure.
C900/RJIB PVC Pipe
Responding to positive industry feedback, the company is adding new 10- and 12-inch outside diameter options to its C900/RJIB restrained-joint integral bell PVC pipe with Certa-Lok technology. The larger pipe provides a cost-effective solution for completing trenchless water and sewer installation and replacement, and the integral-bell design helps save time by eliminating the need for traditional couplings.
Also available in 4-, 6- and 8-inch diameters, C900/RJIB PVC pipe features the Certa-Lok mechanical joining system which utilizes a combination of precision-machined grooves and a nylon spline to provide exceptional tensile strength in pulling or pushing operations. Rounding out the design, a flexible elastomeric gasket within the integral bell provides a solid pressure-certified hydraulic seal.
Using C900/RJIB does away with the fusion process and can be assembled in real time as pullback continues, eliminating the need to string out several hundred feet of pipe within or beyond the work zone. certa-lok.com
