Kobelco
The new full-size excavator, the SK485, is the largest of the Kobelco Mark 9 excavator series. The Tier 4 SK485 Mark 9 delivers up to 15-percent improvement in fuel efficiency, while maintaining exceptional productivity. A new ROPS/FOPS cab provides a larger, more comfortable work environment. A low engine cover and standard rear-view camera improve visibility and operator productivity. Plus, the new CEGR solution will achieve lower operating costs, while also maintaining efficiency, performance, power and reliability. John Deere
The 180G LC hydraulic 18 metric ton excavator provides contractors a larger mid-size excavator solution with an Interim Tier4-certifed (IT4) engine. Volvo Construction Equipment
Part of the new generation D-Series of excavators, Volvo CE is offering customers three heavyweight production machines, ranging in weight classes between 75,000-111,800 pounds – the EC340D, EC380D and EC480D excel in heavy digging and lifting duties, offering superior cycle times and greater fuel efficiency. At the heart of these machines is a turbocharged high pressure direct injection Volvo diesel engine that offers maximum power of 279 hp (EC340D/EC380D), and 343 hp (EC480D) respectively. All three machines feature an automatic idling system that reduces engine speed when the levers and pedals are not activated – aiding fuel efficiency and lowering external noise. Hitachi

Case
The new CX470C excavator is the newest in the Case C Series excavator line that features increased fuel efficiency, productivity and improved serviceability and operator comfort. To achieve Tier 4 Interim certification, the Case CX470C excavator features cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) technology that burns cleaner while delivering superior horsepower. The CX470C, rated at 362 net hp, is available in Long Undercarriage (LC), Retractable Undercarriage (RTC) and Mass Excavator (MEX) models, with operating weights ranging from 105,300 to 108,600 pounds. The CX470C models are roughly 1,100 pounds heavier than the previous model for improved capacity. The CX470C MEX is designed for heavier loads and larger buckets (up to 4.13 yd3 or 3.16 m3), achieving higher productivity in large excavation jobs and high-volume truck loading. Caterpillar
Caterpillar has unveiled the first model in its new line of hybrid excavators, the Cat 336E H, which will be sold and serviced exclusively through the global Cat dealer network following the machine’s official launch at bauma 2013 in Munich, Germany. The 336E H has all of the same powerful advantages of the 336E with the biggest difference between the two models being even greater fuel efficiency. To achieve added fuel savings, the design of the 336E H uses three building block technologies that 1) conserve fuel with engine power management via the Cat Electronic Standardized Programmable (ESP) pump, which smoothly transitions between the hydraulic hybrid power sources, engine and accumulator; 2) optimize performance using restriction management via the patented Cat Adaptive Control System (ACS) valve, which intelligently manages restrictions and flows to seamlessly control machine motion with no loss of power, and to ensure operators experience no difference in control, hydraulic power or lift capability; and 3) reuse energy via the hydraulic hybrid swing system, which captures the excavator’s upper structure swing brake energy in accumulators, and then releases the energy during swing acceleration. cat.com/requestCatinfo
