Track Trenchers & Rock Saws
Track trenchers and rock saws from Vermeer, Trencor/Astec, Ditch Witch, Tesmec USA, Trench-Tech, RIVARD, Mastenbroek and Mid America Trenchers.
Vermeer
The T1055 COMMANDER 3 is powered by a 415-hp engine and features a Rotary Power headshaft and splined headshaft that produce a lower speed and higher torque, providing superior rock penetration and low chain wear for better production results. The T1055 is equipped with the new TEC Plus electronic control system designed for improved diagnostic capabilities and to increase performance by enhancing machine controllability. Sectionalized boom lengths increase work efficiency. The 6-, 8-, 10-, 12- or 14-foot boom lengths offer job flexibility and eliminate the time and effort of changing booms. 888.837.6337, www.vermeer.com
Trencor/Astec
Trencor offers two state-of-the-art industry mechanical drive wheel trenchers for utility and pipeline work – the T1360W and T1660W. Both models feature extended length crawlers, fully enclosed and oil bath lubricated chain final drives, multiple drilled digging rims, and in most cases, double segmented rims. Direct mounted hydraulic hoist cylinders for optimum digging performance are standard on all models. 800.527.6020, www.astecunderground.com
Ditch Witch
The HT300 track trencher, a rock-digging workhorse, is capable of trenching up to 10 feet deep and up to 36 inches wide in the most extreme jobsite conditions. The 300-hp HT300 heavy-duty trencher is designed to deliver maximum trenching power even on rocky and uneven terrain, making it the ideal trenching equipment for wind-farm construction, pipeline work, installing and repairing energy-distribution facilities, and other heavy-duty applications. An exclusive flywheel gearbox delivering maximum power to the trenching attachment on demand while minimizing shock to the hydraulic system. A forged, heat-treated, high-alloy steel headshaft is guaranteed for life. The reversible conveyor deposits spoils on either side of the trench and trencher stabilizers effectively isolate vibration in rock and other harsh conditions. A cruise-control system automatically adjusts ground speed to changing soil conditions and patented bit block digging system lets you easily customize your digging tooth pattern to best fit your application. 800.654.6481, www.ditchwitch.com
Tesmec USA
The TRS 1100 is suitable for cutting through hard rock and cement. The rocksaw offers customers a powerful 385 hp C-13 Cat ACERT engine. Overall track length is 138 inches with a width of 23.5 inches. The hydrostatic drive boasts two pumps and two motors capable of transmitting full engine horsepower. Operator’s have a choice of infinitely variable digging wheel speeds at depths up to 54 inches and widths from 6-14 inches. A pressurized ROPS cab with air conditioning, heating and sound suppression offers comfort for the operator. 800.851.5102, www.tesmec.com
Trench-Tech
The TT-2350, TT-2450, TT-2550, TT-2650, TT-2850 and TT-2950 trenchers range in horsepower from 350-950 hp, which does not include the special order equipment available in ranges up to 1,500 hp. All models are powered by CAT engines. Operating weights range from 75,000-320,000 pounds. Maximum cutting widths provide a 78-inch wide max cut and depths from 24 to 30 feet. 817.491.0621, www.trenchtech.com
RIVARD
RIVARD rocksaw trenchers are dedicated to micro trenching projects, asphalt cutting on airport rehabilitation and more. They minimize disruption with maximum efficiency, productivity and safety, working simultaneously in trenching and duct/cable laying. A range of trenchers is fitted with a smart conveyor for debris evacuation in a dump truck, prior to filling trench with slurry. RIVARAD rocksaw trenchers come with a family of attachments, and servicing is provided by GRADALLInc. +33 (0) 2 41 33 68 68, www.rivard.fr
Mastenbroek
Britain’s Mastenbroek plans to deliver the first of its new generation drainage trencher, the M-3500, to the U.S. in the summer. The M-3500 features a mechanically driven trencher chain, simplified controls and an all-new operator’s cab designed to be ergonomically efficient. The machine made its debut last year in Europe with GPS grade control for drainage trenchers developed by Trimble with close cooperation from Mastenbroek. The system provides surveying to as-laid plans. With a gross weight of 48,000 pounds, the machine comes with a Cummins QSM 11 construction diesel engine delivering 350 hp. Digging depth is up to 11 feet 6 inches, with trench widths of between 8 to 21.5 inches. Designed to cope with difficult terrain, the machine comes with side slope leveling and can be slewed for curved trenching applications. Undercarriage features independent hydrostatic track drive and 25-inches wide triple grouser pads on oscillating tracks. Inside the rise-and-fall operator’s cabin, there is single lever joystick control of the digging mechanism and electronic machine display and controls. +44 (0) 1205 311313, www.mastenbroek.com
