Equipment Spotlight: Compact Track Loaders
Offerings from Bobcat, Vermeer, Case CE, Caterpillar, New Holland, John Deere, Ditch Witch and Komatsu.
Bobcat
The Bobcat T630 compact track loader is part of the M-Series. The T630 has a ROC of 2,230 pounds and an operating weight of 9,015 pounds. The radius lift path provides maximum forward reach at flatbed truck height for a variety of grading, digging, trenching and backfilling jobs. With the optional pressurized cab, operators work in extreme comfort and get improved visibility of the working area. Equip the new T630 with the optional Roller Suspension system to increase operator comfort without sacrificing durability. 866.823.7898, www.bobcat.com
Vermeer Inc.
Ideal for a wide range of applications the Vermeer S600TX maneuvers easily around tough worksites and reduces workload in the process. A 16 gallon (61L) fuel tank is the largest in its class, eliminating the need for refueling during the typical workday. The S600TX is available with a gas or diesel engine option and also comes with two track options (seven or 9-inch) to help match your worksite needs. 888.837.6337, www.vermeer.com
Case CE
The Case 450CT compact track loader features a clean-burning, Tier III certified engine with increased horsepower. The 450CT is powered by a 4.5-liter turbocharged Case engine. The new cabs feature increased headroom and a wider lap bar, along with improved forward, side, rear and overhead visibility. A suspension seat is standard, and a new cushioned lap bar with arm rest and new ergonomically designed control handles provide more comfortable operation. An improved oil and fuel filter access helps avoid spills and speed up oil changes. A wide-fin side-by-side radiator and oil cooler improves cooling of the machines. A larger, 1125 CCA battery and a grid heater are standard. Case pilot controls are available from the factory in either “H” or ISO patterns. The 450CT incorporates a dozer-style undercarriage with fewer moving parts. An angled track frame and material scrapers decrease mud and material buildup. Steel-embedded tracks roll on rubber instead of steel for a longer-lasting track and a smoother ride. 262.636.6011, www.casece.com
Caterpillar
The 289C Compact Track Loader’s fully suspended, steel embedded rubber track undercarriage provides a smooth ride, better load retention and greater productivity. Spacious, sealed and pressurized cab, low ground pressure, highly durable components and excellent drawbar performance help operator’s get more done and increase the bottom line. The undercarriage employs four independent torsion axles for a better ride and excellent bucket load retention. The 289C features a two-speed drive system with a maximum speed of 8.5 miles per hour. The electro-hydraulic joystick control of the drive motor delivers straight-line tracking and electronic torque management. Caterpillar exclusive drive motor seal guards extend the lives of seals and final drives. The 289C has rated operating capacities of 3,850 pounds, at 50 percent of tipping load. Net-horsepower rating is 82. Lift-arm-path design is vertical for the 289C. 309.675.1000, catrequests@cat.com
New Holland
The C175 compact track loader has 2,200 pounds rated operating capacity and an operating weight of 7,535 pounds. Having an overall width of 71.1 inches over the tracks, a length of 129.5 inches and a ground pressure of 5.3 psi, the C175 can get into hard-to-reach areas with little disturbance to the working environment and will fit on most standard trailers. A deluxe cab offers a larger view with the see-through roof panel that provides a clear view to the bucket or attachment – even when positioned at full height. A new convex glass door opens a full 90 degrees for easy entry and exit. The backlit sight-at-a-glance instrument panel features logical labeling for easy operation and is vertically mounted for better visibility. Operator controls are also vertically positioned for easy access and a better view. 888.365.6423, construction.newholland.com
John Deere
The Deere CT 322 compact track loader features two-speed transmission, hydraulic Quik-Tatch, a self-leveling bucket, high-flow hydraulics and a comfortable HVAC system. The instrumentation panel displays operating information and features sealed, easy-to-operate rocker switches. Deere’s patented true vertical lift boom provides greater stability in the work zone (ground level to six feet) with reach at full lift height for center load placement during truck loading operations. Large diameter idlers enhance the ride and durability of the steel reinforced rubber track, while a patented undercarriage design allows the front idler and front roller to move in tandem for a smoother ride. Additionally, lifetime seals and durable all-steel double flange rollers and idlers ensure a longer-lasting undercarriage that will not deteriorate and degrade over time like rubber-coated rollers. 800.503.3373, www.deere.com
Ditch Witch
The SK650 mini track loader is equipped with a 31-hp Kubota turbo diesel engine that directs 20-net hp to the attachment. Both the fuel and hydraulic tanks are mounted on the outside of the machine’s frame. With an eight-gallon capacity, most jobs can be completed without stopping to fuel. Quick-disconnect attachment fittings enable attachments to be changed with the hydraulic system under pressure, which speeds productivity. The SK650 is equipped with a foot pedal auxiliary control that allows the operator to drive the attachment by foot, freeing up his hands to control depth and ground speed. A float section on the auxiliary valve is also included to enable the operator to make more efficient use of attachments. Pilot control valves for ground drive provide responsive steering with little or no vibration through the control handles, minimizing operator fatigue. 800.654.6481, www.ditchwitch.com
Komatsu
Komatsu’s CK 30 Compact Track Loader is equipped with: two speed travel; pilot proportional joystick controls; two-way auxiliary hydraulics; bucket self leveling system; and automatic power control that allows maximum utilization of engine power without stalling. The CK30 is equipped with a three flange front idler that guides the track over the front of the undercarriage and maintains contact with both track guides. This unique design enhances the ability of the undercarriage to retain the track even when working on slopes. Rubber track are easily adjusted, sprockets are reversible and all undercarriage components are lifetime sealed and lubricated. 866.513.5778, www.komatsuamerica.com
