Gas line strike in Texas disrupts service to 200+ residents before restoration
(UI) - A gas line strike during construction work in Lake Dallas, Texas, disrupted service to more than 200 residents, prompting an emergency response and temporary road closures.
According to city officials, the line was struck at an intersection during ongoing infrastructure work, leading crews to secure the area while utility personnel isolated and repaired the damaged section. Approximately 236 customers were affected by the outage, CBS News reported.
Utility crews worked for more than 10 hours to complete repairs and safely restore service. Officials said the incident highlights the risks associated with excavation activities and the importance of coordination during active utility replacement projects.
Service was fully restored later that evening, said CBS News, with utility representatives continuing outreach to affected customers.
