$124 million invested in W. Va. water, wastewater system upgrades
(UI) - West Virginia American Water invested more than $124 million in water and wastewater infrastructure improvements across its service area in 2025, targeting aging systems, reliability and long-term service needs.
The investment program includes water main replacements, wastewater system upgrades, treatment plant improvements and storage infrastructure projects serving communities throughout the utility’s service territory. Planned work includes replacing more than 22 miles of water main and advancing upgrades at multiple water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Additional projects include storage tank construction and rehabilitation, lift station replacements and modernization of pumps, controls and treatment equipment designed to improve long-term system performance and reduce service disruptions.
The utility said it has invested more than $920 million in infrastructure upgrades across West Virginia over the past decade, including installation of more than 247 miles of new water main.
