Honolulu crews repair force main break at Pacific Palisades pump station
(UI) — The City and County of Honolulu Department of Environmental Services (ENV) is repairing a force main break at the Pacific Palisades Pump Station at 1925 Lanikeha Place.
The rupture occurred around 10 a.m. on Feb. 10 while crews were working on site. According to the city, response efforts began immediately to contain the spill and isolate the damaged section of the force main. The release was fully contained by 11:45 a.m.
To maintain service while repairs continue, wastewater flows are being diverted and transported by truck from the affected area. The cause of the break remains under investigation.
ENV crews remain on site conducting repairs under established emergency response procedures. Warning signs have been posted in the area, and the Hawaii State Department of Health has been notified. Water sampling has been waived at this time.
Further updates are expected as the investigation and repair work continue.
