Badger Meter to acquire UDlive for $100 million in sewer monitoring push
(UI) - Badger Meter has agreed to acquire UK-based UDlive for $100 million, expanding its capabilities in sewer line monitoring and strengthening its global water technology portfolio.
UDlive provides sensor-based monitoring systems that combine water level measurement at the manhole with real-time data visualization and analytics. The company has established a strong presence in the U.K. market, delivering continuous insight into sewer network conditions for utilities.
The acquisition will complement Badger Meter’s existing SmartCover platform, broadening its ability to deliver integrated monitoring solutions across wastewater systems. The combined offering is expected to support utilities in improving system performance, reducing overflow events, and optimizing operations.
Company officials said the transaction aligns with growing demand for data-driven infrastructure management, driven by aging systems, regulatory pressure, and climate-related variability. Badger Meter plans to leverage its global footprint to expand UDlive’s technology into additional markets.
The deal is expected to close by the end of April 2026, subject to customary conditions.
